During the Music City BEST competition on October  17th  2009:

DART’s theme for 2009 is “Periodic News”.

We are reporting for the DART Broadcasting Network about the “High Octane” developments at BEST.    In doing so, The Periodic News Team uncovered some very exciting things regarding “High Octane”.   Find out what they uncovered.

Our Periodic News logo incorporates seven elements from the periodic table.  Each element was chosen for a reason….

Carbon, Oxygen and Hydrogen are elements included in the 2009 BEST competition.

Aluminum, Zinc and Copper are found in the parts teams used to build their robots.

Krypton is found in air in trace amounts and used especially in electric lamps.   Teams most likely used an electric lamp that contained Krypton while building their robot, or in some other way.   Whether they did or not, it sounds really neat and was worth including.
